Support the execution of the business plan by supporting underwriting teams, focusing on developing underwriting skills and technical knowledge whilst helping to manage existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Assists underwriters by communicating with brokers and other departments e.g. Billings and Collections, Actuarial etc
- Requests underwriting information from brokers.
- Issues and assembles quotes and policies upon receipt of underwriter approval.
- Processes new and renewal business including some data entry into system, population of relevant systems, file make-up and policy issuance
- Upon request from underwriters, processes mid-term adjustments
- May provide assistance and/or training to other Underwriting Assistants.
- Review of data quality in core policy administration systems
- Maintain standards and operational risk controls
- May assist in special project work.
- Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and ensure, at a level appropriate to the position, that appropriate measures are in place to ensure this compliance.
- May perform additional duties as assigned.

- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite as well as other business-related software.
- Knowledge of policy processing procedures and documentation.

- Appropriate knowledge of all relevant regulatory and legal requirements applicable to the position.
