Job Description
The Role:
As a Sustainability Associate, you will be a member of a team of four individuals within Canopius’ central Sustainability team. You will support the team across its full range of activities. Within the team, you will have a specific focus on data – you will work closely with relevant third party vendors as well as internal teams to source, record and analyse data needed by the team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Working with relevant internal stakeholders to build central repository of all sustainability-related metrics across Canopius (and being the main go-to person for requests related to these metrics)
- Acting as the main point of contact for third-party data and technology vendors
- Remaining up-to-date on data/product offerings relating to sustainability and identifying where a good fit with the team’s needs exists
- Acting as the team’s main liaison with Data and IT functions
- Support the team on disclosure and reporting work, including creation of presentations and regular internal updates to stakeholders
- Support the team on ad-hoc tasks and projects which could be related to governance, investments, operations or employee engagement
Skills and Experience:
- A passion for sustainability and energy transition essential
- (Re)insurance knowledge and experience essential
- Familiarity with data manipulation and analysis essential (e.g. proficiency in Excel, experience of database management, ability to combine and cross-reference different data sets, ability to support build of reporting dashboards, simple programming skills welcome)
- Collaborative working style and ability to be flexible in supporting team requirements
