Join Our Team
You will be part of the Direct and Ceded Operations team, part of the wider Finance organization. You will report to the Head of Direct & Ceded Technical Accounting.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assist/Oversee the execution of the Quarterly Finance close for both MGA and Ceded programs: reviews, bookings, system closes as well as supporting Quarterly Group reporting and other regulatory reporting
- Work with Underwriting and Ceded Placements team to develop MGA program structure/mapping as well as the review and signoff of contract set up.
- Conduct Finance Operations accounting process for MGA programs to ensure data is correctly coded, entered, reconciled, unapplied cash is cleared and underwriting results reported accurately
- Coordinate and onboard MGA programs by working closely with Underwriting and MGAs
- Oversee MGA/TPA imprest accounts, trusts, funds held, cash loss advances, etc.
- Work closely with Claims team to book and report large losses
- Ensure ceded billing and bordereaux reporting are processed and settled accurately and timely
- Streamline workflow processes by collaborating with IT, Actuaries, and Underwriting
- Establish strong relationships with external MGA partners, brokers and reinsurers to address outstanding queries and overdue collections
- Develop and maintain for processes, operating controls and SOX controls.
- Provide support for GAAP, Statutory audits for internal and external auditors
- Support proper booking for retroactive reinsurance contracts, commutations, disputes, liquidated companies
- Project work with respect to the implementation of new technology and processes.
- Perform additional duties as required

Your skills and abilities should include:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or similar
- CPA/ACCA or similar a plus
- Minimum 7 years of experience within Insurance Finance Operations for Direct/MGA and Ceded programs
- Strong knowledge of ceded reinsurance operations
- Experience with SICS (DXC) system, Workday Financial and ceded systems a plus
- Strong leadership skills to manage processes and team members
- Excellent verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with senior management and external with MGAs, brokers and reinsurers
- Analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
- Knowledge and ability to interpret Binder Agreements, Program Management Agreements, Trust Agreements and ceded reinsurance contracts
- Ability to take responsibility, work proactively and continuously improve activities in complex, quickly transforming environments
