Overview

*Please note, this role could be based out of our Chelmsford or Manchester office* 

 

As a Technical Team Leader within our property team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Property Claims Manager by proactively managing Third Party Administrators (TPAs), suppliers, and property teams. Your focus will be on ensuring compliance with contractual requirements and driving best practices to benefit Pen Underwriting, its customers, and insurer partners.


How you'll make an impact

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with claims teams and business units to effectively deliver the Pen Technical and Operational Claims strategy.
  • Proactively manage suppliers to ensure they meet contractual requirements and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and report on performance, addressing any issues and proposing solutions.
  • Communicate complex information clearly and impactfully across various channels.
  • Handle claims and referrals, ensuring accurate data input and effective use of diary systems.
  • Implement proactive measures to achieve cost-effective settlements promptly.
  • Conduct audits of TPAs, suppliers, and claims teams.
  • Work closely with business units to ensure effective strategy delivery.

 

Key Performance Indicators:

  • Financial: Accuracy of reserves and settlement ratios.
  • Relationships: Achievement of customer service standards and resolution of complaints.
  • Operations: Documentation of technical information, adherence to practices, and compliance with legal and procedural rules.

 

Core Competencies:

  • Knowledge and Skills:
    • Understanding of national claims and insurance market environments.
    • Familiarity with Pen Underwriting’s business philosophies and operations.
    • Technical expertise in supplier management, property claims, and insurance principles.
  • Management Skills:
    • Monitoring and control of service providers.
    • Effective delegation, prioritizing, time management, and coaching.
  • Interpersonal Skills:
    • Strong written and verbal communication.
    • Relationship building, fact-finding, and negotiation skills.

About You

Qualifications:

  • Professional qualifications in insurance or related fields.
  • Experience in supplier management and property claims.
