Head of Strategic Relationships
To assist the Head of UK Underwriting in creating and implementing the Company’s national strategic relationship strategy for Global Markets UK (GMUK), taking responsibility for broker relationships and management & broker deals/agreements.
Work with Strategic Relationship Managers and Underwriting colleagues to influence and drive effective specific product sales strategies leading to business success.
Responsibilities:
- Proactively manage and measure relevant agreed KPIs including sales effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
- Work with Strategic Relationship Managers and Underwriting colleagues in collaboration with the Technical Director and Line of Business (LOB) Managers to develop annual plans with defined goals and objectives that support specific LOB strategies.
- Work in close liaison with the Managing Director and Deputy Managing Director to leverage opportunities for MRS-GM and monitor the performance of the broker deals and contracts.
- Build partnerships and relationships with brokers for the long term benefit of MRSI UK.
- Maintain a full understanding of all MRSI UK products, services and solutions – collaborating with other LOB units as appropriate to assist in differentiating us in the marketplace.
- Share market intelligence about trends and competitive practices with Functional Directors and Managers within MRSI UK.
- Promote internal learning opportunities for stall along all lines of business.
- Exhibit a comprehensive knowledge of competitor products and capabilities along with general market trends.
- Actively participate in management of key intermediary relationships, ensuring distribution channel alignment with MRSI UK’s business needs.
- Effectively administer any broker remuneration programmes, facilities and/or Insurers Services Agreements.
Underwriting Authority
- If stated in the relevant Binder(s) this role includes delegated underwriting authority.
Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge and experience of working in the Lloyd’s and company insurance markets.
- Industry knowledge of marine and specialty markets.
- Understanding of underwriting principles across marine and specialty markets.
- Exceptional organisational skills with a pragmatic and clear approach.
- Strong problem solving skills with the ability to take multiple stakeholders into consideration.
- Understanding of business planning and regulatory issues relevant to the London insurance market.
- Strong data analytics and ability to understand fundamental performance metrics.
- Experience of preparing and conducting presentations to a range of stakeholders including C-Suite
- Track record of strong broker relationship management.
- In depth knowledge of the London broking environment.
- University Degree preferred
- ACII preferred
