Responsibilities

To provide administrative and operational support to the underwriting divison and to ensure that all administrative processes are run as efficiently as possible, to serve both internal teams and external clients. 

 

The Senior Underwriting Assistant is expected to take management responsibility for a team of offshore resource, to manage their own porffolio of risk entry activity and to be flexible across classes of business. Specifically the position holded is responsible for: 

  • The Scale-up, training and management of an outsourced processing team including query resolution and adherednce to KPIs. Ensuring high levels of internal customer satisfaction with service levels. 
  • The training and coordination of risk entry activities for a growing team of E&S UA resource, ensuring consistency in how data is entered and ahderece to best practices. Note: Reporting lines will continue to be directly into the Underwriting teams based in the US 
  • Risk Data Entry - Control of risk information received, including ensuring that it is appropriately and electronically filed. Ensuring risk information is kept up to date and correct, and obtaining additional risk information as required, in order for the systems to be used as efficiently as possible. 
  • Document Management  - Ensuring files are stored appropriately 
  • Compliance/UW Control - Comply with external and internal regulatory and statutory policies, procedures and regulations, minimum standards and market practices 
  • Credit Control - Monitoring income, signings, chasing late payments and renewals, as required. Prepare and provide statistics and information in order to serve the requirements 
  • DA – Due Diligence Assistance 
  • Document Generation – support policy document generation. 
  • Operational support for Peer Review 
  • Account Analysis & Reports   
  • Assist with Delegated Underwriting processes  
  • Liaising with Exposure Management  
  • Renewal Chasing  
  • Research   
  • Process improvements 
  • Other ad hoc support to the Underwriting Operations Manager as required.
