We are currently recruiting for a Director of UK Procurement to join our established and experienced UK Procurement Strategy team here at RSA. This is a permanent role, based from our London office and will require travel across the UK.
Your Role
As Director of UK Procurement, you will be responsible for leading the UK procurement strategy and will have accountability for the sourcing of indirect spend and building influential relationships with internal and external stakeholders to deliver excellent commercial outcomes for the business. Your role will be responsible for leading the sourcing strategy over a wide range of third party expenditure, which is predominantly driven by IT related expenditure in excess of £200m. You will be leading a team of professional experts and will be responsible for developing an excellent capability in the procurement team, through technical ability and stakeholder management, delivering a proactive, professional and highly commercial service. You will be accountable for building a clear category management plan, utilising a high-performing, cost-efficient team that is aligned to the transformation roadmap, as well as BAU and ad-hoc sourcing Your role will be accountable for the management of the indirect procurement compliance, performance insights, policy and process framework. You will also ensure there is effective collaboration with Third Party Management (TPM) and Relationship/ Supplier Management teams as appropriate. You will deliver the strategic transformation of the procurement processes, systems and operations whilst supporting organisation wide procedures for governance, risk and control that manage, mitigate and minimise risks to RSA and its partners
About You
You will have held previous roles in senior procurement positions whilst delivering excellent commercial outcomes. With extensive experience in IT procurement, leading large and varied technology contract negotiations. You will be able to demonstrate effective and influential collaboration with senior stakeholders and strategically important suppliers. You will have experience of ensuring that Indirect spend is managed effectively and will be expected to take accountability to ensure excellent commercial outcomes are achieved. Enabled by close engagement with stakeholders to understand operational plans and strategic objectives. You will have led and managed a team of professional experts delivering an excellent service, whilst providing leadership and advice on complex, strategic and contentious issues related to Indirect spend, engaging and influencing internal and external stakeholders where appropriate. You will have maintained accurate and timely management and performance information to enable assessment of indirect procurement performance. This will include assessing and resolving issues and risks in compliance with the governance framework.
