Position Summary
We are seeking to hire an Assistant Underwriter to join our Marine team based in Paris.
Support the execution of the business plan by supporting underwriting teams, focusing on developing underwriting skills and technical knowledge whilst helping to manage existing accounts and identifying new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to business plan achievement by handling renewals and writing new business within underwriting authority.
- Establish and build upon relationships with brokers, clients, reinsurers necessary
- Promote the development of the business by identifying new business and cross sell opportunities.
- Support the preparation of the business plan and any other document/ information as required.
- Ensure accurate entry of policy aggregate information onto the relevant software and spreadsheets, as required.
- Prepare and report figures and statistics for the business unit or team account.
- Support the monitoring and control of the business, as directed by Underwriters
- Liaise with and assist the claims department when required in the settlement of claims
- Comply with all applicable legal and regulatory requirements and ensure, at a level appropriate to the position, that appropriate measures are in place to ensure this compliance
- May perform additional duties as assigned.
