You will serve as our Head of Legal based in our Stockholm office and be a key member of our Legal, Regulatory and Compliance team. You will join us at an exciting time as we are growing and investing in our infrastructure to support our business growth.
This is a broad, influential role for a qualified lawyer who thrives in regulated, fast-paced environments and is comfortable balancing commercial ambition with regulatory reality.
As Head of Legal, you will act as a strategic partner to the European senior leadership, providing commercially focused legal guidance that supports global business objectives. You’ll lead and develop a small, high-performing legal team and work closely with multiple business units.
You will advise on a broad range of legal matters across regulatory developments, data protection, sanctions, corporate law, commercial contracts, insurance and reinsurance, as well as helping to deliver training and guidance across an even broader spectrum of areas.
You will need to build strong partnerships across global and regional teams to ensure business aligned legal solutions, whilst shaping and leading the Swedish legal function in a matrix global, mission driven insurance company, so will be comfortable working directly with executive leadership on strategic initiatives.
Your Skills and Abilities Should Include:
- Qualified lawyer with 10+ years’ post qualification experience.
- Significant private practice or in house experience within the insurance sector desirable
- Proven leadership and people management experience.
- Deep understanding of financial services, as well as related regulatory and commercial frameworks.
- Experience working within a global, matrixed organisation.
- Law degree or equivalent legal qualification.
- Current or former Advokat status desirable.
- Excellent drafting and organisational skills.
- Entrepreneurial spirit.
- Flexibility with ability to prioritize and multi-task. Strong execution focus. Willingness to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
- Exceptional and intentional collaborator. Able to operate and excel at both strategic and tactical levels.
- The ability to engage with and build trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
