We are recruiting for a Head of Corporate Motor to join the GCS extended leadership team.
Business context - Global Corporate & Specialty (GCS) is a GI business that handles large and complex risks for customers with an annual turnover, typically, exceeding £250m. It’s core product lines are Property, Motor & Liability as well as Specialty and Financial Lines. GCS has an ambition to grow organically in the UK and in the wider Global market from £1.5bn to £3.0bn by 2028, with a sub 94% COR - to be the go-to insurer for large and complex risks, supported by 21st century systems and processes.
A bit about the job Reporting to the Underwriting Director – Corporate Lines the Head of Corporate Motor is responsible for managing the portfolio to deliver against our financial plans.
This role requires extensive experience in both the London market and UK regions, with a deep understanding of Motor insurance. The role holder is responsible for developing and implementing the Corporate Motor underwriting strategy, leading a team of underwriters, encouraging positive relationships with brokers and clients, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
This senior position demands outstanding leadership, critical thinking, and in-depth knowledge of the Corporate Motor sector. The Corporate Motor portfolio is currently worth in excess of £100m GWP. Appetite is defined by the Head of Corporate Motor, in conjunction with the Underwriting Director and CUO Commercial Lines.
We seek a balanced portfolio both by programme structure and industry segments. This is a London based role and will require you to be in the office three days a week.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Experience having accountability for the Corporate Motor P&L and provide rationale and insights on performance of the Corporate Motor portfolio to deliver planned profit & volume over both the short and long term
Ability to provide clear strategic direction for the Corporate Motor portfolio Positive engagement with brokers and customers
Build effective working relationships with key stakeholders within GCS, CUO Function, SME, Claims, Finance, Legal and Distribution Experience of leading corporate Motor teams and developing talent across the team with an eye on creating a succession plan
