Overview
Join our dynamic Cyber actuarial team as a key team member, providing expert analytical support to brokers and clients across multinational and Lloyd's carriers. This role involves various tasks such as pricing, model building, profitability study, dealing with large data sets, and progressing through actuarial exams. We are seeking a candidate with 1-2 years of experience and a strong interest in learning about the fast-growing field of Cyber insurance.
How you'll make an impact
- Conduct exposure and experience-based pricing for reinsurance.
- Utilize DFA modeling to investigate the impact of reinsurance structures.
- Optimize capital efficiency and return through reinsurance structures.
- Compile, analyze, and present benchmarking data.
- Contribute to research and development efforts within Cyber insurance.
- Build effective relationships within the team and other departments.
- Act as a point of contact for specific tasks/processes.
- Communicate information clearly through verbal and written channels.
- Identify efficiencies and process improvements.
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the Actuarial department and the wider business.
- Proactively seek opportunities to develop technical skills and experience.
- Manage workload effectively and provide progress updates.
- Develop and automate modeling processes.
- Contribute to RFPs for reinsurance strategy placements.
- Participate in strategic reviews of underwriting and reinsurance strategies.
- Provide thought leadership in benchmarking by line of business.
About you
- Strong analytical skills, with proficiency in R or Python.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and anticipate outcomes.
- Experience in actuarial team preferred but not essential.
- Bachelor's degree in a numerate/quantitative discipline.
- Making progress towards IFoA qualification or willingness to complete it.
- Excellent IT skills, particularly in MS Excel, R, and/or Python.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
