IFRS 17 Finance Manager
Division: Finance – Group and Statutory Reporting
Reports To: Group Financial Controller
Key Relationships: Finance, Actuarial, Ceded RI, Company Secretariat, Outsourced Service Providers, Underwriting Teams, External Auditors and Advisors
Job Summary: To lead and manage the day-to-day activities of IFRS 17 reporting, to provide explanations of the component parts of the IFRS 17 result, including quarter on quarter movements. The primary focus of this role will be to provide technical knowledge, advice, and expertise on all areas of IFRS 17 Financial Accounting to the business.

This may include, amongst others, Beazley’s underwriting control standards, Beazley’s claims control standards, other Beazley standards and customer relationship management.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as individually notified, either through your objectives or through the learning management system. These may include membership of any Beazley committees or working groups.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for supporting the Group Finance and Actuarial teams whilst:
- Maintaining oversight of IFRS17 quarterly timetable;
- Managing the production of quarterly IFRS17 Governance pack;
- Ensuring compliance with quarterly IFRS17 control framework;
- Reviewing data accuracy and ensuring strong control processes are in place;
- Liaising with IFRS17 Actuarial team to analytically and quantitatively validate results;
- Contributing to wider process enhancements to achieve great efficiencies and further projects such as finance modernisation;
- Owning the IFRS 17 to GAAP reconciliation process for outputs;
- Owning the IFRS 17 KPI’s and any other financial performance measures;
- Working closely with the Group Reporting Manager to ensure the successful delivery of the Beazley plc annual and interim reports; &
- Working closely with the Technical accounting team to ensure continued compliance with IFRS 17 as and when technical changes arise;
Finance projects and process improvements
- Lead/ input into finance projects and process improvements to ensure that they drive efficiency and align with the finance systems strategy.
Staff
- Ensure that own staff have clearly defined objectives and valid job descriptions setting out their responsibilities and reporting lines.
- Ensure that people are recruited, deployed and developed to anticipate and meet current and future needs.
- Ensure that all employees have the knowledge and the skills necessary to perform effectively in their given roles and responsibilities.

Personal Specification:
Education and Qualifications
- CA (ICAS) /ACA / ACCA / CIMA qualified
- Knowledge of insurance company accounting (including IFRS 17)
