Role Summary and Purpose
The Senior Finance Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the reporting activities and Finance Systems within Finance, with a focus on utilising the Workday, data reconciliations & process improvements. This role requires a strong understanding of financial reporting principles, as well as expertise in working with the Workday system to generate accurate and timely financial reports.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Data Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data within the Workday system, conducting regular audits and reconciliations to identify and resolve any discrepancies. Including but not limited to Tri-Rec, MI/GL rec.
- Data Integrity: Review and lead the daily, monthly & quarterly review of the EDW to GL dataset.
- Data Integrity: Assist the data domain owners role to improve data mappings and lineage across Arch.
- Internal Controls: Ensure internal control procedures to safeguard financial data and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Monitor and review control processes.
- Workday System Management: Support and act as a point of contact for all matters related to the Workday reporting requirements, including build, maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Process Improvement: Assist the streamlining and automation of financial reporting processes within the Workday system, collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement improvements.
- Process Improvement: Assist in leading the outcomes from process operational excellence (POE) reviews across finance.
- Facilitate change: Actively engage the key stakeholders to ensure that process improvements are actioned promptly in instances where cross-team & departmental work is involved.
- Finance Projects: Assist projects, assessing scope and resource requirements.
Skills / Competencies
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and reporting standards (e.g., GAAP,). - Proficiency in financial reporting software and tools.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- ACCA, ACA, CIMA or Insurance Qualifications
Experience
Experience in financial reporting, preferably within the insurance industry or underwriting function.
