Role Summary and Purpose
- To assist the Arch Delegated Underwriting Authority Manager in the onboarding, administration, oversight and monitoring of delegated underwriting facilities at Arch Insurance
- Supporting the Delegated Underwriting Authority Manager in the due diligence review process for new and renewing delegated underwriting facilities and the continuous oversight throughout the life cycle of each facility. Activity includes pre-bind quality assurance checks and completion of due diligence review forms.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Oversight of the administration of coverholder and binding authority due diligence reviews, including pre-bind quality assurance checks and completion of due diligence review forms in the Intarga coverholder and binder management system
- Management of internal and external stakeholder relationships (Underwriting, Claims, Conduct, Compliance, Lloyd’s, brokers, coverholders)
- Provide guidance and support during the life cycle of delegated facilities and work proactively in the resolution of issues identified during the on going due diligence process
- Ensure coverholder and binding authority records are accurately maintained in the coverholder and binding authority management tool (Intarga).
- Oversight of the monitoring of the DUA Team mailbox, ensuring communications are cascaded to the appropriate teams
- Production of regular and ad hoc reports for the business
- Assist the Delegated Authority Manager with systems and process development and implementation.
- Represent Arch as required on specialist external forums, groups and market events
Skills and Competencies
- MS Office, Excel advanced
- Comprehensive understanding of insurance, specifically of delegated arrangements (binding authorities, consortia)
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal and team working skills
- Strong analysis and data processing skills
Qualifications
- Degree level education preferred, “A” Level education minimum or equivalent relevant professional qualification
- Progressing towards CII qualifications, or equivalent market qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a DUA function with exposure to delegation in both Lloyd’s and Company markets.
