Responsibilities
This apprentice will work with both the Actuarial team and Finance team on a rotational basis.
The Actuarial function provide key information to the business planning process. This team provides support to the W. R. Berkley Corporate (WRBC) actuarial team, the internal and external audit functions, and manage independent actuarial reviews.
The Finance function is responsible for the financial planning and reporting of financial transactions of the business, covering both profit centre reporting to the parent company, legal entity to local Lloyd’s and statutory reporting
Responsibilities
This individual will have a dual aspect role with the individual assisting two departments, the Actuarial team and the Finance team.
Actuarial department duties to include:
• To provide administrative and operational assistance to the Actuarial team, ensuring all administrative processes are run efficiently, to serve both internal teams and external clients.
• Provide support with monthly and quarterly reporting processes.
• Assist in various analytics to support the business including GAAP and Solvency II technical provisions
• Learn and develop good data processes, ensuring all reconciliations and governance are in place.
• Develop positive working relationship with key stakeholders, including Management, Finance department, Underwriters, and third parties.
• Provide support and gain experience across all actuarial disciplines, as required.
Finance department duties to include:
• To provide administrative and operational assistance to the Finance team, ensuring all administrative processes are run efficiently, to serve both internal teams and external clients.
• Support with the preparation of Lloyd’s returns
• Support with the preparation of Solvency II returns
• Support with the preparation of both internal and external reporting within the UK and US
• To support with the monthly reconciliation process of technical balance sheet accounts for audit purposes
• Develop commercial understanding of the finance requirements within the Lloyd’s market

- Minimum of English and Maths GCSE and 2 A-Levels (or equivalent)
