Operations Technical Change Lead

FT 35 hours per week
Hybrid - Ashford - Travel to the Ashford/London Office at least once per month
Here at Saga, we are looking for an Operations Technical Change Lead. The Operations Technical Change Lead will play a critical role in driving successful change within Operations, their role is to plan, coordinate, and manage the impact and adoption of all change affecting Operations, and to ensure the change is implemented smoothly and effectively.
The Operations Technical Change Lead is responsible for developing strategies that will guide the change process and act as the technical SME for Ops. They work will to define the scope of the change, specifically from a technical view point, identify the stakeholders who will be impacted and work with them to ensure we have a good understanding of the technical impact of the change. They will work with their Change Lead peer to help plan and manage stakeholder engagement, and for managing potential resistance to the change. They will also ensure we have a good understanding of any changes to the way colleagues will have to work and be able to work with teams to produce content to support change learning. They will work closely with all stakeholders to understand their concerns, and to address those concerns in a way that is consistent with the goals of the change initiative.
They must build relationships with stakeholders, to assist in buy-in for the change initiative. They work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs, and to ensure that the change is aligned with those needs.
Role Responsibility
- Have a specific interest in the technical capabilities of new and existing systems, how these work together and the impact of any change proposed
- Be detail orientated in order to fully investigate and understand colleague systems
- Ensure all system changes are detailed and process mapped as part of the change process, working with impact analyst to provide process insight
- Help develop and implement change management strategies and plans that maximise colleague adoption and minimise resistance
- Collaborate with senior leaders to identify and prioritise change initiatives based on business needs and priorities
- Build relationships and work closely with stakeholders to identify and address concerns related to the change initiative
- Work with the change impact analyst to understand upcoming changes and build communication and action timeline for leadership
- Develop and deliver communication and training programs that support the adoption of change initiatives
- Help understand the key metrics and measures of change success, track the progress of change initiatives and report on the status of those initiatives to senior leaders
- Identify and manage the risks associated with change initiatives and develop contingency plans to mitigate those risks
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and encourage colleagues to embrace change as a way to drive growth and innovation
- Manage resistance to change and help alleviate colleague concerns related to the change initiative
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure that change initiatives are integrated with other business processes and initiatives
- Facilitate change management workshops and training sessions to build change management competencies across the operations
- Develop and implement change management policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistency and effectiveness
- Ensure that change initiatives are aligned with the operational strategy and vision, and they support colleague and customer outcomes
- Build and maintain relationships with external change management experts and vendors to stay abreast of best practices and emerging trends in change management
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in change management, and continuously improve the organisation’s change management capabilities
The Ideal Candidate
- Excellent personal communication, presentation skills and able to come across as a professional, credible, and able to act on behalf of Operations in project meetings
- Strong levels of multi-tasking, prioritisation, and solution-orientated approaches
- Understanding of change disciplines and/or principles is desirable
- Flexible and adaptable to needs of the ongoing project portfolio
- Curious to understand best practice and capable of working in sometimes ambiguous scenarios
- Well organised and detail oriented
- Able to support and challenge decisions based on Operational leadership feedback
- Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
