Systems Accountant (Workday Implementation)

6 Month FTC

Salary – Up to £43,000 per annum

At Saga, we are looking for a Systems Accountant to join our Insurance Finance team on a 6-month contract.

We are currently in the process of migrating our General Ledger to Workday, and as our Systems Accountant, you will play a key part in supporting this project as we go live and embed.

You will report to the Saga Services Finance Manager and work closely with the R2R and AR teams and project stakeholders.

At Saga, we come together with a purpose so that we can collaborate with each other; as part of our Insurance Finance team, you would typically meet in our Folkestone office once a week.

Role Responsibility

As a Systems Accountant you will be accountable for the following areas:

Facilitating testing support from the project team to the AR Team.
Liaising with the project team to resolve issues arising during the testing phase.
Ensuring all items in the testing phase are successfully completed and properly documented.
Communicating any issues or challenges arising and ensuring they are resolved.
Collaborating in the adaptation of processes currently linked to the existing accounting system.
Supporting the reconciliation process during the data validation phase of the project.

The Ideal Candidate

Our ideal Systems Accountant would have experience, having already been part of a Workday implementation project.

Experience working in Insurance Brokering would be of advantage, however we are happy to consider applicants who have been part of a Workday implementation in other industries.

Other skills and experience required include:

Demonstrable experience in process improvement
Accounting background, including experience in journal entries, reconciliations and maintenance of control accounts.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a range of colleagues at varying levels
Analytically strong with the ability to challenge and interrogate, facilitating the ability to identify anomalies or inconsistencies and pursue these through to a resolution
Able to work independently without constant oversight
Relish the challenge of working to tight deadlines and during periods of pressure
A genuine “team player” who thrives in a joined up team environment
