Media Assistant Underwriter

As a Media Assistant Underwriter you will be supporting and actively contributing to the team’s strategic vision, in a fast-paced and vibrant environment with a strong emphasis on personal and professional development.
About the role
Working within a team with a global footprint, you will be responsible for underwriting a caseload of new and renewal business in a variety of territories with a primary focus on US business. You will work closely with the Underwriters, Managers and the Team Leader in order to provide exceptional service and forward-thinking insurance solutions to this evolving sector.
You will consider submissions for media businesses globally and be able to offer a cross-class package policy solution including E&O, Cyber, Public & Products Liability and Employers Liability. You will be required to:
- Respond to and manage enquiries from brokers in a timely and professional manner, producing new and renewal quotations within agreed SLAs.
- Proactively develop and seek out new business opportunities ·
- Explain the features, advantages and benefits of media products, coverage enhancements, support product launches and raise awareness of new and existing products;
- Support and contribute to team projects and internal and external presentations on CFC products and key trends in media exposures;
- Research with a mind to develop subject matter expertise in media classes and investigate relevant legislation/regulation/compliance issues within our target markets;
- Maintain and update the Media renewal and prospect list in a timely manner and completing other team administrative tasks as required;
Our Assistant Underwriters are encouraged to seek out and proactively develop new broker relationships and to work with the Underwriters to manage our key partner relationships. Through a combination of on-the-job training, proprietary technology and group training you will be expected to enhance your technical and interpersonal skills in order to progress to underwriting larger and more technically complex accounts.
About you
The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience within the insurance industry preferably with exposure to underwriting financial lines. You will have some knowledge of entertainment or professional indemnity based insurance products as well as a desire to develop your technical underwriting and business development skills.
We are looking for driven, self-starters with a strong work ethic who can contribute to a fast-paced working environment and work within a high performance team. You will need to be sales and service focussed, confident and personable on the phone and in front of our customers and be able to demonstrate a hunger and aptitude to support growth within the team. You will be analytical with strong attention to detail but also able to reach conclusions quickly and make effective decisions.
You will be expected to work at a high pace and intensity that underpins the successful framework of the CFC business and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support our ambitious growth plans.
