We’re looking for a
Global Data Architect
Based in the US and reporting to the SVP, Software Engineering, the Global Data Architect will be responsible for defining, managing, and evolving the enterprise data architecture strategy, standards, and frameworks on a global scale.
This role oversees data governance, architecture and design, integration and AI capabilities to support advanced analytics, and data management practices to ensure that data supports business goals, regulatory compliance, and analytics needs across the organization.
Familiarity with insurance and reinsurance domain is highly valued, enabling the architect to design solutions that support complex industry-specific data requirements as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams to build robust, scalable, and secure infrastructures that drive business intelligence and digital transformation initiatives globally.
This position is based in the US, with preference given to those candidates located in the Easten US time zone to accommodate global time differences.

What you will do
Data Strategy and Architecture Design
- Define the global data architecture strategy, define current versus target state architecture, ensuring alignment with business and IT objectives
- Develop and maintain data models, data flows, and architecture blueprints that meet current and future data needs, especially for insurance and reinsurance applications
- Establish Enterprise Architecture (EA) best practices and oversee data architecture standards, guidelines across the organization
Data Integration and Management
- Design and implement data integration processes across multiple systems, databases, and cloud environments
- Design and implement data architectures leveraging Microsoft Azure and Fabric to integrate data sources, enable data sharing, and streamline analytics processes
- Utilize Fabric’s capabilities in data lakehouse, real-time data integration, and analytics to support underwriting, claims processing, and actuarial models.
- Train teams on best practices within Microsoft Fabric to maximize the platform’s potential and align with organizational data strategies
Domain-Specific Data Management
- Implement data models and data structures to support insurance and reinsurance data flows, including underwriting, claims, policy administration, and pricing models
- Collaborate with actuarial, claims, and underwriting teams to ensure that data solutions align with industry-specific requirements, regulations, and business objectives
- Create solutions that support complex calculations, historical tracking, and data audits specific to the insurance and reinsurance fields
Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with key stakeholders (e.g., business units, data engineers, actuaries, and C-suite executives) to understand business requirements and translate them into data solutions
- Act as a liaison between technical teams and business users in underwriting, claims, and actuarial departments to facilitate data-driven decision-making
Innovation and Emerging Technologies
- Stay abreast of emerging data technologies, architectures, and trends, particularly those affecting the insurance industry (e.g., predictive modeling, AI-driven underwriting, regulatory compliance)
- Evaluate new tools and technologies, especially within the Microsoft ecosystem, for potential adoption within the organization
- Promote continuous improvement by adopting new methodologies and data capabilities that enhance data analytics and business intelligence
Data Quality and Performance Monitoring
- Implement data quality controls and standards to ensure data accuracy and consistency
- Monitor data architecture performance, identifying opportunities to optimize and scale data infrastructure
- Conduct periodic audits of data structures and ensure optimization for performance and reliability
What you require for the role
- Strong demonstrable experience in data architecture, data engineering, or database management roles, with at least 3 years in a senior or lead position overseeing global data initiatives
- Familiarity with insurance and reinsurance processes, including underwriting, claims, accounting, and pricing models, is a significant advantage
- Expertise in data modeling, database management, ETL tools, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Microsoft Fabric, and BI platforms
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with the ability to work across cultures and regions, with excellent stakeholder management
- Strategic vision with a practical approach to data management
- Deep knowledge of data privacy, security, and compliance in an international context
- Proficiency in designing scalable and sustainable data architectures with Microsoft Azure and Fabric
- Ability to manage data as an asset and align it with organizational goals
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field
