Kennedys is looking for a Bids Executive to join our Pursuits team in our Business Development department. The successful Bids Executive will work closely with the Pursuits Managers, Pursuits Advisor and the rest of the team to embed, coordinate and project manage pursuits, proposals, pitches and tenders that maximise the return on Kennedys' time and cost investments. They will manage and contribute to tenders, develop information resources, identify and embed best practice and support the firm's objective of maintaining or increasing its overall tender win rate.
The Bids Executive will handle and contribute to tenders and fee proposals. They will work with partners and their teams, as well as the Clients & Markets and Business Services teams, to develop winning strategies and to produce timely high quality, compelling documents and presentations.
Team
Kennedys Business Development team promotes Kennedys services and supports the firm's global growth ambition and our key clients and markets.
The UK Business Development team consists of the following sub-teams: Pursuits, Clients and Markets, Client Development Systems and Marketing and Communications which encompasses, Digital, Brand, Communications, Content Marketing and Events.
We also have a Business Development presence in 10 global offices.
Key responsibilities
- Project manage pursuits, or elements of pursuits, including drafting and reviewing content from a sales perspective, facilitating and coordinating meetings and contributing to the strategy and messaging
- Support partners/lawyers to prepare for strategic pursuit presentations, including arranging rehearsals, developing and managing the project plan, driving key milestones and working with partners/lawyers to produce materials
- Promote a “pipeline” culture which ensures the identification of all known and/or anticipated pursuit opportunities, including working with the Clients & Markets team pre-tender to optimally position Kennedys with key stakeholders for panel opportunities
- Manage, and contribute to, multiple continuous improvement projects, to embed best practice and optimal processes across the team.
Required experience
- Experience of leading or contributing to and winning pursuits and pitches, ideally within a law or professional services firm
- Strong project management and planning skills
- Excellent research, effective business written and verbal communication skills, including attention to detail
- Ability to think of and deliver new ways to differentiate the firm during the pursuit and presentation process
- Business benefits and results focused
- Excellent IT skills including the use of Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Good understanding of the insurance industry desirable.
