Job Title: Finance Reconciliation Accountant - 7 month FTC
Key Relationships: Finance team, Underwriting and claims operations, Lloyd’s of London, Banks, Underwriters, Proglobal and Auditors.
Job Summary: A key role in our finance team, supporting the finance manager to reconcile cash to insurance receivables and payables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Day to day monitoring and matching of insurance receipts/payments using Autorek (sub-ledger).
- Identifying and advising of corrective action where appropriate, to include preparation and posting journals using Agresso (GL Package).
- Liaising with underwriting and claims operations and Proglobal (external service provider) and external brokers to investigate inconsistencies between bordereaux, cash and premiums/claims. These relationships will be essential in ensuring success in the role. Resolution of legacy issues where identified, including implementation of processes, systems and/or controls to prevent reoccurrence.
- Prepare, update and review necessary procedure documents.
- To reconcile and create upload files into autorek
- Create and complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Day to day monitoring and matching of insurance premium tax receipts/payments using Autorek (sub-ledger).
- Assist on the Finance Reconciliation Project as requested by the finance manager.
- Ad Hoc reporting including co-ordination and collection of information to prepare internal reports.
- To comply with relevant Beazley procedures and policies.
Personal Specification:
Education and Qualifications
- University degree in finance/ business/ accounting preferred
- Qualified accountant - preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Must be able to work as part of a team
- Computer skills – Excel/MS Office
- Experience of AutoRek would be an advantage
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Proactive , self starter, seeks continuous improvement
- Ability to manage time, meet deadlines and prioritise
Knowledge and Experience
- Knowledge of insurance company accounting is preferred
