Location: This is a hybrid role, and will be based in either one of our Telford / Edinburgh / Wythall offices, with some time working between the office (3 days per week) and home. There may be some travel between our Phoenix offices. We will discuss what is important to you and balancing this with business requirements during the recruitment process. The Team
Asset Management (“AM”) Operations is a key support function for various stakeholders within AM and beyond. It has wide-ranging accountability ensuring operational control of investment activities, supporting the Group and AM Governance framework and delivery of investment reporting. The core services provided by the wider team include coordination of Middle office activities, daily trade and position reconciliations, trade settlement, cash management, collateral management and other ancillary administrative services, with an initial focus predominantly on Fixed Income Bond and Derivative activity for shareholder and policyholder assets managed under external mandates.

The MI & Governance Analyst role has wide-ranging duties to support the timely and accurate delivery of Management Information (MI), and help to ensure that Risk & Governance and Business Control requirements are met across the team, supporting the collation of operational data and developing the skills to become a champion for ensuring that organisational Risk & Control standards are met and exceeded.
Reporting to the AM Operations Business Manager and liaising with the Head of AM Operations, the role will support the monthly delivery of MI to varied stakeholders including the Senior Leadership team. The role will also support the aspiration to build and produce real-time MI via automation, utilising technology to build a streamlined and reliable process.
The position will have links to the Business Control team to ensure that our Risk & Control framework, including management of controls, incidents and EUCs, is regularly reviewed and systems are maintained within the rules and framework prescribed by Risk & Governance.
Key Responsibilities
MI & Governance
- Interaction with Business Control and Governance on all policies, framework and deliverables to ensure they are being adhered to.
- Maintaining and regularly reviewing a Risk & Control library and framework for AM Operations, collaborating with all Operations leads, building an understanding of the end-to-end operational processes and the risks associated.
- Support the AM Operations Management team with review of Audit / Action Plans / Risk reports, documenting and tracking the actions from these.
- Following Business Control processes to support the completion of Quarterly RCSA and EUC attestations.
- Coordinating the delivery of monthly MI pack to document key achievements, project process, Automation/IT improvements, recruitment and Risk & Controls.
Support
- Contribution towards the successful reporting and tracking the key deliverables of the AM Operations function.
- Support and implement activities to continuously improve delivery.
- Follow documented business processes, contributing to enhancing the documentation, controls and oversight framework on an ongoing basis.
- High regard for accuracy, understanding the importance of actions and data being accurate, timely and to a high standard.
- Supporting the AM Operations team and wider business with ad-hoc queries, particularly in respect of governance and MI data.
What we're looking for
Experience (preferred, but not essential)
- Some experience of working in a Financial Services organisation, preferably in Asset Management
- Interested in data and proficient Excel capability (Intermediate level)
- Experience in utilising Power BI for real-time data
- Some knowledge of end-to-end investment operating models, and downstream consumers / value chain would be ideal
