About the Role:
This role is the senior finance lead for Everest’s London reinsurance operations, providing strategic financial leadership, regulatory oversight, and governance across the UK entities. As a regulated function holder, the role partners closely with the London Branch Manager, International CFO, and Group Finance to ensure strong financial control, regulatory compliance, and high‑quality management information in support of the International Reinsurance platform.
Role Purpose:
- Serve as the principal finance leader for the London reinsurance entities, acting as the primary liaison to both the London Branch Manager and International CFO on all finance-related matters.
- Hold the regulated position of Chief Finance SMF2 and Compliance Oversight SMF16
- Ensure robust oversight and governance of financial operations in accordance with UK and Bermuda regulatory requirements which will include meetings and primary contact with the regulator regarding UK regulatory returns.
- Lead the oversight, maintenance, and reconciliation of the Everest Reinsurance (Bermuda) UK Branch (“ERBUK”) and Everest Advisors (UK) Ltd (“EAUK”) trial balances, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Oversee all UK regulatory filings for ERBUK and coordinate the provision of financial information for parent company filings in Bermuda, maintaining the highest standards of regulatory compliance.
- Act as the main point of contact for UK direct and indirect tax matters, collaborating closely with internal and external tax teams to ensure compliance and optimize tax strategy.
- Lead, develop, and motivate a team of qualified and part-qualified accountants, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Represent the London finance function at the group level, driving enhancements in management information, planning, and process efficiency as part of the wider International Reinsurance division.
- Partner with the Treasury Team to support capital and cashflow planning, ensuring effective liquidity management and alignment with group objectives.
Key Accountabilities:
- As primary London finance representative, ensure London Reinsurance’s interests are represented at group level, contributing to strategic decision-making and governance.
- Oversee the monthly financial reporting process, ensuring full reconciliation of results, compliance signoffs, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Lead the preparation of monthly Management Information packs and support the production of Quarterly Management Information documents (“QBR”) for London, providing insightful analysis to senior stakeholders.
Skills & Competencies:
- Fully qualified accountant with a proven track record in financial management, analysis, and regulatory compliance within a complex, regulated environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to assimilate and apply complex information at an enterprise level.
- Advanced problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
- Demonstrated leadership in people management, team development, and motivation, with a commitment to fostering high performance and professional growth.
