Senior Planning Analyst
Division: Finance - Global Business Management
Reports To: As per Beazley’s organisation chart
Key Relationships: Finance Leadership Team, Finance Global Business Management, Finance Group & Statutory Reporting, Capital Planning, Group Actuarial, Ceded Reinsurance, Underwriting Teams, Group Auditors and other Business Users.
Job Summary: Specialist insurance company Beazley is seeking a Senior Planning Analyst within it’s Finance function to work closely with a wide range of stakeholders across the business. Reporting to the Global Planning Manager this role will involve being a key component in the accurate and timely delivery of group planning and forecasting deliverables and scenarios, from building initial timetables and engaging with stakeholders to final control checks and documentation. The role includes processing of inputs received from across the business, analytical review of the P&Ls, documentation of outputs and developing strong working relationships across the organisation both inside and outside of Finance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a key component of the Global Planning Team, including supporting junior team members, with a focus on customer service to provide best in class service
- Work with the Global Planning Manager to foster a culture that values employee experience alongside amplifying the team’s overall capabilities
- Own the internal IFRS 4 budget and forecast timetable, ensuring data points meet the needs of the corporate timetable. This includes tracking progress of all inputs and outputs across the Global Business Management function, Group Actuarial and Ceded Re
- Ownership of the budget and forecast module, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of group planning and forecasting deliverables, analytics, and scenarios (technical and non-technical) to all relevant committees and boards
- Own a suite of analytical tools and reports used to review the group P&L and ensure they are fit for purpose to gain sufficient comfort over the relevant planning cycles
- Ownership of large loss workings and adjustments in relation to all budget and forecast cycles
- Review of consolidation accounting across all budgets and forecasts, working alongside finance stakeholders in the US and Europe to ensure timely delivery
- Communicate clearly both written and verbally with regards to forward looking group P&L results, ensuring concise articulation of the key drivers
- Review and enhance the current global planning capability and offering and with the support of Finance modernisation work towards future state
- Close cooperation with other strands of Global Business Management to ensure all global P&L planning activity is streamlined and submissions are providing consistent messaging
- Involvement in data preparation and analysis in relation to Group Long Term Planning
- Owner of certain audit deliverables and actions in relation to plan group P&L numbers
- Embed oneself across the wider company and support various Finance projects and initiatives

Relevant qualifications and capabilities are listed as follows:
Education and Qualifications
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Experience of the insurance market, preferably Lloyd’s
- Knowledge of accounting policies adopted within complex insurance organisations
