It’s an exciting time at AXA Manchester, with a new leadership team and significant investment secured to transform our service delivery and grow our footprint with our broker partners in the North West. We're currently looking for a talented individual to join our Fleet Underwriting team.
The role encompasses many opportunities to contribute to the development and success of the branch account, not just from a growth and profitability perspective but driving service excellence to our customers. The team ensure close collaboration is supported internally across the teams to be set up for success, as well as engaging and building key relationships with the brokers and panel aligned business developers.

You'll work at least 60% of your week away from home, either at our office location in Manchester, visiting clients or attending industry events.
What you’ll be doing:
- Underwrite existing business profitably, accurately, consistently and in line with established underwriting practices, using the full range of tools available.
- Build trading relationships with brokers, through visits and large case liaison, to maximise financial results and to generate pipeline new business opportunities.
- Contribute to meetings with brokers and end customers to portray AXA capabilities and secure new business opportunities.

- Strong analytical skills with proven experience of account monitoring and action planning.
- Proven experience in decision making on a wide range of underwriting scenarios within a Commercial environment.
- Sound understanding of insurance market and processes across commercial lines insurance operations.
- Knowledge of legislative and regulatory requirements for insurance.
As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
