Data Governance and Privacy Associate

If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Data Governance and Privacy Associate.
In this role, you will play a key part in driving data quality standards across our General Insurance (GI) business. Your expertise will ensure that our data meets high-quality standards, enabling us to make informed business decisions.
A bit about the role:
The Data Governance and Privacy Associate will make recommendations for data owners and accountable execs in gathering requirements for Data Quality (DQ) tests from across the GI business including type of tests, thresholds and prioritisation and developing, testing and executing DQ Tests against data standards.
Operating the Scheduler developed by Data Engineering to schedule the executions of the DQ Tests and building and publishing DQ Metrics reports using the results of the DQ Tests. Also, you will be supporting additional analysis and examples to the business for root cause analysis where DQ tests fail agreed thresholds as well as populating the DQ Issues log where DQ tests fail agreed thresholds, prioritised by materiality as well as supporting the DQ Working Group through publication of DQ Metrics, Issues Log and provision of data analysis / examples where DQ tests fail agreed thresholds therefore you will have an understanding and experience of small and large scale (IT) change.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Experience of data quality analysis and monitoring against complex insurance datasets (Commercial and Personal General Insurance preferred) as well as experience in data quality problem resolution across multiple business and IT stakeholders
- Understanding of General Insurance business and associated data processes
- Fluent in SQL across multiple platforms (e.g. Oracle, Snowflake)
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Knowledge of data governance and compliance

- Starting salary circa £35,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
