Who are we?

Ki is the biggest global insurance tech company you’ve never heard of, unless you’ve been looking to insure a satellite, wind farm or music festival recently.

Having written over $877m in gross written premium in 2023, we’ve achieved significant growth since our beginnings in 2021. Our investors were excited about the fact we were revolutionising the way a 333 year-old industry was working. There are hardly any industries left that are mainly paper based, but the specialty insurance market is one. Together with partners at Google and UCL we developed Ki and created a platform that helps insurance brokers place risk in a fast and frictionless way. We’re continuing to lead the charge on the digitisation of this market and we need more excellent minds to work with us to realise this goal and create more opportunities.

Purpose of the Role

You will work alongside the Casualty Underwriters, with a focus on the PI and Healthcare portfolio. Within this role you will be a part of the decision-making process and help define, develop and deliver the underwriting strategy to ensure that profitable business is written. You will bring an understanding of the market and identify new opportunity areas, wordings and legal considerations of a class as well as leveraging existing relationships for Ki.

Based on existing class knowledge, you will work with the Underwriting Directors, Portfolio Underwriters and Portfolio Management Team to constantly update underwriting strategies by class. Collaborate with Portfolio Management to focus on areas of the portfolio and review based on distribution partner and market feedback, optimise the commercial lens of the algorithm by giving updates from the market, distribution partners and competitors, develop the revenue strategy with input from the algorithm’s appetite to optimise revenue generation and business mix.

If you have a track record of success in building and executing commercially viable strategies, are an excellent negotiator, communicator and relationship builder and have an in-depth knowledge of PI within the Lloyds market, we’d love to hear from you. If you are interested in working alongside underwriters, portfolio management and account management to drive underwriting performance this could be the role for you.
