Overview
Gallagher Specialty's, M&A, Litigation and Transactional Risks Practice is dedicated to complex insurance advice and solution delivery. Our Litigation and Arbitration Risk business is a Tier 1 Chambers & Partners ranked broker providing solutions for clients involved in complex litigation and arbitration proceedings both in the UK and internationally. We work with clients and law firms in London and beyond, to place insurance products such as after the event insurance, capital protection insurance and litigation buy out insurance among others. We work on many of the most high-profile proceedings taking place in the High Court or Competition Appeal Tribunal in any given year, as well as working on private arbitrations.
In this critical role, the Technical Manager will support both the production and placement of new risks, service existing cases and support the case management team where necessary.
How you'll make an impact
New Business
- Initial review of case documents
- Preparation of the insurance submission to Underwriters
- Contribute to the broking process alongside Producer and Technical Director with broking
- General oversight of lead up to placement – licensing, onboarding, etc.
- Review and sign off on Q&A
- Policy drafting/drafting support and contribution and/or oversight of all finalisation of all transaction documents
- Drafting of client reports
- Confirming insurance cover
Case Management
- Review and sign off on underwriting notes and endorsements
- General oversight of ad hoc case management matters as they arise, including excess layers, top ups and general policy changes.
- Liaising with Case Management colleague(s)
- Dealing with Claims team (if required)
- Maintain a broad knowledge of relevant markets and changes across the industry in order to keep clients/agents informed and provide effective risk management advice in line with AJG principles and values
- Comply with AJG Professional Standards Manual in accordance with statutory requirements for role with specific attention, but not limited to Managing Client information, Whistle Blowing,Treating Customers Fairly
About You
Technical Knowledge
- Legal qualification or equivalent insurance qualification.
Experience
- Experience working in a legal or insurance setting, will possess excellent organisation and administration skills and will be highly detail focused. They will be confident, a good communicator and able to be proactive and anticipate needs.
