As one of our Product and Commercial Managers, you will play a key part in delivering Saga Services insurance profit and volume growth targets.
You’ll join Saga at an exciting time as we look to strengthen and grow our propositions in Health and Travel Insurance.
Reporting to the Head of Product & Commercial, you will ensure successful strategic growth through new product innovation, development, and enhancements aligned with Saga’s Health and Travel strategy. With exciting products and a unique customer base, this is an opportunity to make an impact.
We offer total flexibility over where you work – you choose a place that you feel most comfortable and productive, either from home or in one of our hubs in London or Folkestone.

Role Responsibility
As one of our Product & Commercial Managers, you will be responsible for delivering strategical growth through new product innovation, development, and enhancements aligned with Saga’s Health and Travel strategy.
Other accountabilities include:
- Demonstrate a strong, comprehensive understanding of the Health and Travel insurance products, procedures, and systems across the business, ensuring product and market knowledge is kept up to date, and new opportunities are explored
- Working with the Head of Product and Commercial and the wider Health and Travel team to develop and manage continued growth in market-leading products, incorporating key regulatory principles, including Consumer Duty.
- Responsible for the successful and timely delivery of project management
- Maintaining clear and consistent lines of communication across stakeholders, ensuring that the needs of the department and suppliers are appropriately represented and information is cascaded in a timely manner.
- Effectively communicate project and departmental business objectives, project briefings and any other information in a timely manner.
- Ensure all customer communications are technically correct, consistent, and meet relevant regulatory requirements.
- Undertake root cause analysis of products to understand key drivers behind customer complaints and deliver innovative solutions.
- Managing commercial relationships with external partners and Conduct Risk to ensure adherence to FCA guidelines.
- Managing commercial contractual requirements with the Legal team to ensure all responsibilities are considered, incorporated, and met.
- Function as a BAU point of contact for the business and represent in the relevant business forums, meetings, and day-to-day activity
- Management of competitor and industry research and analysis, including the maintaining of price competitiveness consistent with the Saga brand
The Ideal Candidate
The successful Product and Commercial Manager will be able to challenge and support the delivery of new product innovation and improve existing processes to support growth and the best customer outcome.
General Insurance market experience within either Health or Travel lines is essential, both are desirable.
Other skills and experience required include:
- Strong knowledge incorporating regulatory regime and Consumer Duty.
- Excellent organisational skills and diligence, with a demonstrated ability to work well both independently and within a team.
- Able to lead multiple projects, prioritise, and manage a high-volume of tasks, deadlines, requirements, and decisions whilst driving exceptional customer outcomes.
- Management and delivery of high-quality communication, both verbal and written.
- Driven and determined to develop within the role through increasing technical knowledge and building effective relationships within the business and with external partners, inclusive of the PCW market.
- Commercially aware and able to design, develop and implement product initiatives to achieve the best customer outcomes.
- Experienced in trading activity and able to create business cases to support new propositions to market, working with Finance colleagues.
