Job Profile Summary
A detail-oriented Underwriting Assistant with a keen interest in insurance Underwriting and pricing will support the Underwriting and pricing teams in data capture, developing, and improving insurance pricing models for Hull, Cargo & Specie. The role involves working closely with Underwriters, actuaries, and data analysts to ensure accurate risk assessment and pricing decisions. This role will require excellent analytical skills, with good attention to detail.
Job Description
- Accurately input underwriting data into pricing models to generate risk assessments and premium calculations.
- Ensure that data entered aligns with underwriting guidelines, policy terms, and risk factors.
- Review and validate model outputs to ensure consistence an accuracy in pricing recommendations.
- Work closely with underwriters to interpret pricing model results and make necessary adjustments based on underwriting considerations.
- Assist in the development and enhancement of new pricing tools and methodologies.
- Work with IT and pricing to troubleshoot and resolve model related issues.
- Gather and validate underwriting data required for pricing analysis.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity and consistency across pricing models.
- Assist in producing reports and insights for underwriters and senior management.
- Provide training to underwriting teams on pricing models and tools when required.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency of pricing models.
- Support ad hoc requests from senior management and the Head of Marine and Energy
Regulatory Responsibilities
- Assist with the completion of all required annual product review assessments to agreed timescales with approvals obtained and recorded
- Follow all Chaucer Group Product Governance processes in the UCM and obtain appropriate approvals
- Ensure that the principles of providing good customer outcomes and the fair treatment of customers are upheld by Agents and Service Providers
