About the role
The Head of Technology Strategy & Architecture is responsible for defining and governing the enterprise technology strategy and architecture for BMS Group, ensuring business strategy is translated into coherent operating models, business capabilities, and executable technology roadmaps.
Sitting within Technology and reporting to the CTO, this role bridges business strategy, technology direction, and enterprise change, providing clarity on where BMS is investing, why, and how technology will evolve to support growth, resilience, and regulatory compliance.
The role partners closely with Group Change to ensure enterprise and business architecture are embedded into transformation design and governance, while retaining clear ownership of technology strategy, architectural standards, and long-term technical direction.
Experience
• Insurance or financial services industry experience, with understanding of regulatory, operational, and customer dynamics preferred but by no means an essential requirement,
• Significant experience in IT and business transformation, including leadership roles within enterprise or business architecture.
• Proven track record of developing and executing enterprise-wide architecture strategies that connect business and technology outcomes.
• Demonstrated experience leading high-performing teams and driving cross-organisational change.
• Strong background across multiple architecture domains (business, data, applications, infrastructure, and security).
Skills
• Strategic and visionary thinker with the ability to connect business strategy, capabilities, and technology execution.
• Expertise in enterprise and business architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and modern architecture practices (cloud, APIs, data platforms).
