About the Role
Clyde & Co is seeking a Litigation Executive to join its market-leading Product Liability team in Bristol. The team advises insurers and their insureds on a broad spectrum of complex, high-value disputes, with a particular focus on defending personal injury claims arising from product liability and aviation incidents.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-profile cases for a stellar client base alongside a highly regarded and collaborative team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of pre-litigated product liability, employer’s liability and public liability claims under supervision, progressing matters efficiently and in line with client service standards.
- Assist senior fee earners on complex, high-value claims, including catastrophic injury and multi-party litigation.
- Accurately valuing claims for personal injury to assist London and International insurers consider appropriate reserves.
- Handle property damage and insurance coverage disputes linked to product liability matters.
- Assist with drafting legal documents, including witness statements, and instructions to experts and counsel.
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy.
- Liaise with clients, insurers, brokers, counsel, experts, and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate case records and ensure compliance with procedural rules and internal reporting requirements.
- Support case strategy, including liability investigations, quantum assessment, and settlement negotiations.
- Meet billing targets and contribute to the financial performance of the team.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience handling defendant litigation matters, preferably within personal injury, product liability, or insurance litigation.
- Experience of working with insurer clients is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with the Civil Procedure Rules (CPR) and litigation processes.
- Understanding of how to value a personal injury claim.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage complex issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a varied caseload and prioritise effectively under pressure.
- High level of attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
