Description
DAC Beachcroft has an opportunity for a Paralegal to join its market‑leading Health Care and Public Law Team in Bristol, supporting lawyers who advise healthcare providers and commissioners in relation to complex regulatory and advisory matters.
This role is ideal for an organised and motivated individual with a genuine interest in healthcare and regulatory law, who is keen to develop their skills within a collaborative and supportive team. Previous paralegal experience is welcomed but not essential.
Key Responsibilities
As a key member of the Healthcare Regulatory team, you will support our team of lawyers on a broad range of health regulatory matters, primarily Inquests and Court of Protection Proceedings.
Routine tasks may include:
- Day to day liaison with clients, courts, coroner's offices and counsel;
- Disclosure in various settings;
- Note taking during meetings and Court hearings;
- Assist with the day‑to‑day management of files, ensuring matters are progressed efficiently;
- Supporting with arranging meetings;
- Drafting routine correspondence, template Court forms and statements;
- Support with client management information requirements;
- Record time accurately and support billing and matter management requirements;
- Preparing bundles;
- Undertake research under supervision;
- Contribute to knowledge management, training materials and business development activities.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Strong organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail;
- A pro‑active and enthusiastic approach with a genuine willingness to learn;
- Ability to efficiently manage competing priorities in a busy professional environment;
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills;
- Competence in basic IT systems, including Microsoft Office;
- An interest in healthcare regulatory law;
- Advantageous but not required:
- Previous experience as a paralegal or within a legal or professional services environment;
- A law degree (or equivalent).
