Kennedys is currently seeking an experienced Costs Draftsperson to join the team in Sheffield or Manchester. This role involves working with a dynamic team in a supportive and professional environment.

We act on complex and high-profile cases, led by experienced Partners recognised as market leaders in this sector. We avoid unnecessary lawyering and are focused on working in partnership with our clients and delivering modern solutions, including our in-house R&D capability and award-winning product suite of technological and process innovations.
This area of the team focuses on defending claims arising from road traffic accidents advising a major insurer on coverage, liability, quantum and rehabilitation. On quantum, we handle a real mix of claims ranging from those involving straightforward fractures to life changing injuries as well as accidents which have tragically resulted in fatalities. The Partner leading the team has a long-standing relationship with the insurer which results quite unusual and sometimes rather unique claims being received. This position offers an opportunity to work on a wide scope of cases arising from road collisions.
Clients
- The team acts for a wide variety of clients ranging from large insurers to local authorities and large corporate self-insured.
Cases
- The team acts for the liability and insurance division providing costs advice on negotiating and recovery of personal injury and general costs insurance matters.
Required experience
- 3+ years' experience in costs work gained in a claimant or defendant environment
- Experience of drafting Points of Dispute and Replies
- Experience of drafting and negotiating Precedent H budgets
- Experience of drafting electronic bills of costs and using Costsmaster software
- A good attention to detail and the ability to deal with a varied caseload
- Legal experience gained within either a claimant or defendant environment
