About the Role
BMS Group is seeking an experienced investment banking Vice President (“VP”) to join the BMS advisory team. Our VPs lead engagements within the insurance & reinsurance market and act as the primary day-to-day point of contact for clients and investors on our transactions. We offer our VPs the opportunity to lead and support on a wide range of transactions across our global practice, including legacy solutions, insurtech advisory services, private capital raising, M&A, and Insurance-Linked Securities (“ILS”).
The successful candidate will be able to cultivate relationships with clients, investors and other advisers within the industry while navigating a diverse set of transactions in the (re)insurance space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transaction execution and the identification and pursuit of new business opportunities
- Lead current and prospective client and investor discussions
- Coach team members in their professional development
- Build a strong personal internal and external network and brand as part of promoting the team
- Build and review detailed financial models to evaluate transaction performance under various operating scenarios and capital structures
- Lead client teams, BMS actuaries and catastrophe modelers, legal firms and other service providers to deliver legacy solutions, capital raising initiative and ILS solutions (such as reinsurance sidecars or catastrophe bonds)
- Review and comment on legal documents such as information memorandums, offering circulars and other related transaction documentation
Required Experience
- 6+ years of work experience in either FIG (financial institutions group) related investment banking, actuarial solutions, or reinsurance broking with focus on legacy solutions
- Series, 7, 79, and/or 63 licenses or willingness to complete shortly after joining

- Strong industry skills: knowledge of the (re)insurance sector, statutory accounting, and insurance debt financing

- P&C actuarial exams and familiarity with catastrophe modeling are a plus
