We are seeking a Chief Architect to lead SiriusPoint’s enterprise architecture function and technology strategy. This senior leadership role is responsible for defining and maintaining the enterprise architecture vision, standards, principles, and roadmaps that enable business strategy, operational excellence, and technology modernization. The Chief Architect will serve as SiriusPoint’s senior technology strategist, ensuring alignment between business objectives, data, applications, infrastructure, security, AI, and emerging technology investments. The role will lead Enterprise Architecture and Architecture Governance while partnering closely with Delivery, Data, Security, Cloud, Infrastructure, and Business leaders across the enterprise. You will report to the Chief Information and Technology Officer.
Your responsibilities will include:
Enterprise Architecture Strategy
- Define and maintain SiriusPoint’s Enterprise Architecture strategy and multi-year technology roadmap.
- Align technology investments with business capabilities, strategic priorities, and transformation objectives.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and determine their applicability across underwriting, claims, finance, operations, data, and AI platforms.
- Act as a technology evangelist and trusted advisor to ELT, business leaders, and IT leadership.
Architecture Governance & Standards
- Establish and govern enterprise architecture standards, principles, patterns, and reference architectures.
- Chair Architecture Review Boards and technology governance forums.
- Ensure adherence to architecture standards across strategic initiatives and IT investments.
- Develop target-state architectures and transition roadmaps.
Solution & Technology Leadership
- Oversee enterprise, business, application, integration, data, cloud, and infrastructure architecture functions.
- Provide architectural guidance for strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and modernization efforts.
- Lead evaluation and selection of major technology platforms and strategic vendors.
- Ensure security, scalability, resiliency, and maintainability are embedded into architectural decisions.
Data, AI & Integration Partnership
- Partner with the Chief Data Officer and Head of AI & Engineering to ensure alignment of data, analytics, AI, and integration architectures.
- Establish integration standards leveraging modern APIs, event-driven architecture, and cloud-native design principles.
- Support enterprise-wide adoption of reusable platforms and common services.
Organizational Leadership
- Lead and develop a high-performing architecture organization.
- Build strong relationships with business, technology, and vendor stakeholders.
- Mentor architects and establish career development pathways across the architecture function.
Your skills and abilities should include:
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in business, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or a related field of study, or equivalent experience.
- More than 15 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance in various functions, a sound understanding of insurance and reinsurance processes/concepts.
- 10 or more years of experience in at least three disciplines, such as business, information, solution or technical architecture, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations in a multi-tier environment.
- 5 or more years of business experience in strategic and operations planning and/or business analysis.
- Familiar with Cloud-based technologies specifically AWS. Deep and up-to-date expertise in SaaS, infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), SOA, APIs, DevOps and micro services.
- Familiar with information management practices, system development life cycle management, IT services management, infrastructure and operations, and EA and ITIL frameworks.
- Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), presentation skills, soft and interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation.
- Strong mathematical skills needed in this area for cost-benefit analysis, budgeting and risk management.
- Exposure and understanding of existing, new and emerging technologies, and processing environments.
