OverviewWe are seeking a talented and experienced Data Visualisation Designer to join our global data team and translate complex analytics into compelling and actionable visual stories for our colleagues and clients. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing intuitive and effective user experiences for our data products, with a focus on simplifying complex data products to reach a broader user base, extending beyond technical users. As a member of the Data Products team, you will collaborate with curious, self-driven critical thinkers who possess an entrepreneurial mindset, contributing to lasting value for our clients and organization on a global scale. This role requires a combination of creative design skills and an understanding of user behavior across technical and business profiles.
How you'll make an impactAnalysis:
- Analyze and interpret data in collaboration with the analytics teams to identify key insights and trends.
- Translate data insights into actionable design improvements to enhance storytelling and usability.
Information Architecture:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create and optimize information architecture based on data-driven insights.
- Develop wireframes, flowcharts, and prototypes to communicate design ideas and user flows.
Design:
- Design and refine interactive elements to improve the overall user experience.
- Create designs and low- and high-fidelity prototypes for review and to inform a data product requirement backlog.
- Ensure that design decisions are informed by both usability principles and data analytics findings.
- Conduct interviews and surveys to collect qualitative and quantitative data on user preferences, behaviors, and pain points.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
- Work closely with data analysts and stakeholders to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) and use them to measure the success of UX improvements.
- Use data to inform and iterate on design solutions, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with developers, product managers and other stakeholders to ensure delivery of optimized end-user solution
Collaboration:
- Collaborate with data product managers, analytics team members, developers, and other stakeholders to understand business goals and translate them into user-centered design solutions.
- Clearly communicate design concepts and rationale to cross-functional teams.
About YouYour portfolio should showcase your talent and experience in designing data products (apps, tools and/or data visuals) and creating compelling digital experiences to drive storytelling and engagement. You are proactive, comfortable managing multiple concurrent projects, taking responsibility, and prioritizing your work. As a self-starter, you are adept at working independently and within project teams. Your strengths include rapid prototyping using Figma and Power BI in particular and other design systems to create interactive prototypes for user testing. You can effectively estimate your work and adjust to changing priorities while managing multiple projects and balancing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Visualization, Business Analytics, Design or related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in data analysis, visualization or UX Design.
- Proven experience in data storytelling and presenting insights to stakeholders.
- Proficiency in data analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
- Proficiency in prototyping design tool such as Canva, Figma (preferred), Sketch, or similar products.
- Strong understanding of data analytics concepts, methods, and tools.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to adapt to evolving business requirements and user needs.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously or change priorities in accordance with business needs.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
