Financial Crime Specialist
How does this role contribute to our collective success?
Act as a financial crime specialist in a busy compliance team, working proactively on a variety of compliance tasks and projects to support successful business outcomes and efficiencies. The role is predominantly sanctions focused with a remit to grow a more rounded financial crime and advisory role.
What will you do in this role?
- Advising the business on all aspects of regulatory Compliance relating sanctions and wider financial crime matters.
- Reviewing and responding to sanctions queries from across the business (including overnight batch screening), logging all queries and creation of Financial Crime MI with the support of the AXIS Board.
- Horizon scanning and maintaining up to date knowledge of UK regulators, FCA, PRA, Lloyd’s, Lloyd’s Europe, and international Sanction authorities
- Support the completion of GAP analysis of Regulatory policy statements and best practice guidance against AXIS framework and recommend enhancements
- Managing and/or co-ordinating regulatory returns including ad-hoc regulatory requests with involvement from various business units within AXIS
- Supporting the production of an annual Financial Crime risk assessment and Annual MLRO report.
- Participate in compliance monitoring/fact finds, including preparing, executing, report writing and follow-up as well as collecting and analysing routine MI, if required
- Identify opportunities for operational efficiency and provide solutions to streamline existing compliance processes and procedures
- Use formal reporting mechanisms to promptly notify relevant parties of any perceived new risks or failures of existing control measures
- Support interaction with UK regulators and international sanction authorities
- Contribute to the annual Compliance Plan
- Interaction and engagement with the Compliance Operations Europe team and wider European Compliance team
