We are seeking a talented individual to join our Commercial Insurance team at Marsh. This role will be based in Witham. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Working in collaboration as a member of the Witham’s leadership team to assist in the development of strategy, client service, growth and recruitment within this highly successful office. You will manage a team of Client Advisors on a wide range of insurance programmes focusing on small to medium Commercial clients.
The role will involve delivery of operational excellence across all required disciplines by continuously producing best practice behaviours. Drive high levels of client retention and help to grow the business through maximising client contact, up-selling and cross-selling, retention, expanded and new business.
We will count on you to:
- Provide day-to-day oversight and people management of a team of Client Advisors.
- Manage, lead, and coach colleagues to achieve internal KPIs and client satisfaction for client services
- Understand the team dynamic through emotional intelligence
- To prepare, plan, conduct and document regular performance management conversations with each individual in the team.
- To conduct and document regular reviews of career goals and actions and coach development using a PDP (Personal Development Plan) and Talent Mapping analysis.
- To analyse business MI to identify trends and patterns for business opportunities and put corrective actions in place, coaching for better results.
- To walk the floor and support with technical and soft skills areas of opportunity and provide on hand support in real time.
- To identify, support, monitor and embed any key training/ development areas of the team and its members, through effective feedback and coaching.
- Provide clear direction and guidance to the team.
- To lead by example, celebrating success, recognising everyone's roles and contributions.
- To communicate and carry out regular team briefing comprising business updates and training.
- Ability to manage own time and that of others, prioritise workloads effectively, creating a good work life balance and ensure team is appropriately staffed to meet client needs.
- To assist the Head of Office to achieve strategic goals.
- Support and encourage the team’s sales activity in order to achieve new business growth targets
- Proactively work with internal and external networks to build relationships with prospective new clients and achieve team new business target
What you need to have:
- Proven experience of Account Handling with small to medium UK Accounts
- A passion for making a difference to the working lives, skills and success of colleagues
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to work flexibly when required
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple issues/ challenges simultaneously
- Demonstrable experience dealing with challenging situations and individuals
- Dynamic with a drive to continually improve service to clients
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills – able to clearly articulate issues, problems, and resolutions
- Fully competent in the use of Microsoft Office products
- Previous people management or supervisory experience preferred
