A bit about the job:

As a Mid-Market Team Manager, you’ll lead a team of underwriters to deliver business objectives and grow a profitable portfolio. Your focus will be on managing people, driving team development, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and professional standards.

You’ll create an environment where your team can thrive, implementing best practices to optimise performance and supporting change effectively. You’ll also work closely with other leaders to share insights and collaborate on initiatives that improve overall branch performance. Building strong relationships with brokers and account managers will be part of your role, ensuring excellent service and support.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team (previous leadership experience is essential).
Strong communication, listening, time management, and negotiation skills, with confidence to present to colleagues and external partners.
Experience in the insurance industry — underwriting experience is helpful but not required; backgrounds in sales, claims, or other insurance functions are also welcome.
Good understanding of FCA and other relevant regulations.
Curious and eager to learn, with a passion for improving processes and finding better ways of working.

Salary up to £60,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
