Head of Professional Indemnity

It’s an exciting time to join Aviva’s Global, Corporate & Specialty division (GCS) as we look to hire a new Head of Professional Indemnity (PI), to help us own a UK Company platform PI portfolio currently in excess of £50m and to extend to Lloyds platform portfolio in due course. This is an outstanding opportunity for someone who values their remarkable grasp of the PI industry, combined with their strong leadership, collaborator management, and critical thinking skills.
A bit about the job:
Reporting to the Underwriting Director for our Financial Lines division, you will be responsible for the performance and development of the PI Account in accordance with our Financial Lines / Global Corporate Specialty plan. You will develop a team of underwriters at Aviva while fostering positive relationships with brokers and clients to achieve profitable growth and new product developments.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Outstanding PI underwriting knowledge (including within London Markets), and knowledge of developing and implementing PI underwriting strategies.
- Senior leadership experience – i.e., being able to motivate, develop and lead a large team of underwriters.
- Ability to demonstrate how you have contributed to profitable growth and portfolio turnaround/exits, across several key PI portfolios.
- Ambitious, commercial mindset
- Ability to build up effective working relationships with both internal stakeholders, as well as brokers and external bodies, becoming an ambassador for our brand at events.
