How you'll make an impact
Regulatory Developments
- Proactively monitor and analyse regulatory changes from key UK regulatory and Government bodies that may impact Gallagher’s operations or its clients.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts in the Compliance department during policy consultation, design, and implementation phases, using research and analysis to inform policy development and operational decisions for regulatory projects and initiatives.
- Engage with key stakeholders to ensure Gallagher’s perspectives are effectively represented in responses to consultations affecting the Group or its clients.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of key regulatory policy areas relevant to Gallagher’s businesses.
- Produce high-quality, informative, and concise reports or briefings to facilitate effective stakeholder engagement across the Group.
- Communicate complex and ambiguous information clearly and impactfully, utilising a variety of communication channels.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests for research and analysis to support policy advice for Compliance colleagues and business stakeholders.
- Explore opportunities for leveraging GSC and regulatory technology to support regulatory projects or changes.
FCA Relationship Management
- Assist the UK Regulatory Director in managing regulatory relationships to ensure expectations are met.
- Prepare tailored briefing materials for senior managers ahead of regulatory interactions, such as proactive engagement meetings, thematic visits, or SIF interviews.
- Review all documentation to ensure it meets appropriate standards, is accurate, and consistent before submission to a regulator.
Regulatory Transactions
- Prepare and/or coordinate the completion of regulatory approvals, including change in control applications, approved persons, Appointed Representatives, and associated withdrawals, while maintaining existing approvals accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Critically assess and provide independent challenge to RMAR returns or other regulatory reports to ensure correct interpretation of reporting requirements and appropriate supporting evidence.
About You
- Excellent working knowledge of FCA rules and their application to insurance brokers and a good understanding of the EU regulatory framework
- Prior regulatory affairs experience, preferably in financial services regulation.
- Knowledge of regional regulatory environment including general insurance products, services, and classes of insurance including underlying legal principles and practices relating to risk within own role capacity desired.
- Ability to think clearly and rigorously, to draw reasoned and logical inferences from proposed regulation or legislation and use judgement to reach robust and practical conclusions.
- Excellent communicator (oral and written) with strong research and analytical skills, able to disseminate complex information clearly and concisely to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to build positive relationships, establish credibility and to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- High degree of self-awareness and self-management.
