Job Profile Summary
The Technology Transformation and Strategy Team support the CIO in defining the Chaucer Technology Group’s (CTG) strategy, driving the transformation/ integration and increasing the business partnering. The Head of Technology Transformation and Strategy is also responsible for the central business function supporting the CIO, ensuring the smooth running of all operational activities, such as, IT budgeting, communications, portfolio management, reporting and resource management.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-orientated Business Manager to join the team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in overseeing budgets, driving financial efficiency, and ensuring the smooth operation of the function. The position requires exceptional organisational skills, financial acumen and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Job Description
- Assist the CTG Leadership Team (LT) in the financial management process, ensuring that invoice processing for consultancy, software and accruals is managed efficiently and effectively across the departments.
- Understand the budgets for the LT lead and assist in monthly tracking of budgets and headcount.
- Assist and support the Head of Transformation & Strategy in completing the annual budget.
- Maintain the departmental training budget.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices.
- Facilitate the materials for the town halls, ensuring material for communication is collated, accurate and completed within the required deadlines.
- Assist with the coordination of the departmental inputs into the Operational plans for the CIO.
- Support the CTG demand and resource management process by coordinating the assessment of request. Track and manage actions to ensure their timely resolution.
- Assist the LT with the recruitment process and orientation of new joiners to the department.
- Coordination and maintenance of the departmental organisational charts.
- Manage and assist with day-to-day operations.
Skills and Competencies
- Proven track record of managing budgets, with strong knowledge of financial systems, invoice reconciliation, budgeting tools and data analysis.
- Proven experience as a Business Manager or in a similar role.
- Comfortable working alone or with staff to conduct plans for a budget, business process analysis, and process improvements.
- Proven financial acumen and experience with budget management.
- Proven experience supporting senior executives in a corporate environment.
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to streamline process and implement best practices to improve office efficiency.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
