Job summary
To shape, plan and organise projects so that they are delivered according to the business drivers of time, cost and quality to produce the desired results. You will be the point of reference for everything involving a project’s organisation, approach and timeline and provide effective stakeholder management and communication.
This role will be responsible for the management from start (production of a PID) through to end (BAU sign-off). This will involve technical delivery management of projects primarily related to Technology Operations within the Chaucer Technology Group and direct engagements with business colleagues.
Experience required delivering projects involving Technology Partners and 3rd parties with mix of onshore and offshore teams.
Main duties
- End to End project management responsibility for shaping and delivering projects.
- Project scope, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and resourcing.
- Management of project(s) budget
- Accountability for managing the project(s) within the defined scope and ensuring impacts of changes to scope are managed through effective change control.
- Accountability for ensuring implementation in line with the defined Change Policy
- Working with relevant IT teams, to ensure the project delivery is aligned to the strategic systems architecture and security protocols.
- Responsible for resourcing projects appropriately in line with budgetary constraints.
- Ensuring that the project impacts are understood and effectively managed for all key areas of the Chaucer business and Technology Group.
- Manage risks and issues and implement mitigation plans.
- Produce all project documentation in line with Change Policy
- Steering Group and Workshop facilitation, reporting and presentation.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Certifications in related technologies and project management are a plus.
- Proven technical management history of successful delivery on technology-based projects in a hybrid cloud computing environment.
- Experience of reporting to Project Committee members and sponsors.
