Overview
Gallagher Specialty are looking to hire a Data Analyst to join our Aerospace Division based from our London City office.
Our Aerospace Specialty division provides tailored solutions to clients in the aviation and aerospace industries, including airlines, leasing companies, aerospace infrastructure, and space organisations. We are seeking a talented and motivated Data Analyst to join our team and play a key role in delivering data-driven insights and solutions to our clients and partners.
This role will be working on data projects using technologies such as SQL/DAX and Power BI. As our Data Analyst you will be the bridge between our insurance professionals and our technical IT teams and will support with improving the divisions data capability and being the data expert.
We offer flexible hybrid working and a requirement would be 3 days a week in our London office.
How you'll make an impact
- Work on data projects that deliver value to our clients and key trading partners, including airlines, leasing companies, aerospace infrastructure, and space organisations.
- Analyse and manage data captured from various systems, including our placement tool, client portal, document management system, and electronic placement systems.
- Develop and deploy data visualisations using Power BI to provide actionable insights.
- Drive operational efficiencies by implementing a “single point of entry” principle across multiple systems.
- Investigate data quality issues, identify root causes, and provide feedback to the business for correction.
- Identify and optimise key internal and external datasets to maximise value.
- Contribute to the development and management of data dictionaries.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define success metrics for data projects.
- Stay informed about the latest trends and technologies in data analytics, including their application within the wider Gallagher organisation.
About You
- Proven experience as a Data Analyst or Data Engineer ideally gained in the Insurance or Financial Services Industry.
- Proficiency in SQL or DAX coding.
- Expertise in using data visualisation tools, particularly Power BI.
- Experience investigating front-end system configurations and specifying changes to improve data capture.
- A desire to learn and take on projects that may extend beyond the core role.
- Experience deploying analytics, including managing Power BI workspaces.
- Knowledge of key technologies supporting data storage and analytics, such as Azure.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience leading projects and managing support requirements, including working with offshore partners.
- An interest in the aviation industry would be an advantage
