Reward Consultant, UK Alternative Asset Management Team (Reward Data Solutions)

The Aon Data Solutions team is recruiting a Reward Consultant to join our London‑based practice, supporting clients across hedge funds, private equity, real estate and other alternative investment managers. Using Aon’s market‑leading McLagan surveys and proprietary data, the role focuses on partnering with clients to gather reward information, analyse market trends and deliver high‑quality benchmarking insights and advisory outputs that inform critical reward decisions.

What the day will look like
- Owning and developing client relationships, including client service and finding opportunities for business development.
- Analysing data, contributing to data-led reward consulting projects, such as pay analysis and customised benchmarking and our market leading market practice studies.
- Writing reports and analysing market practice information, e.g. HR policies and compensation plans / structures.
- Supporting client advisory projects including analytical and market practice / reward consulting through creating and developing the technical, statistical and graphical content of consulting projects and compensation studies.
- Business development including finding opportunities relating to existing and emerging trends in client businesses.
- Project and process management.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Solid understanding of and interest in the financial services sector.
- A thorough understanding of compensation and the issues affecting reward structures.
- Ability to master a specific area of expertise. Would be considered an expert and the go-to person for either an internal process or a market sector.
- Be a person that more junior staff can learn from and takes a proactive role in sharing experience and expertise.
- Driven in client service, origination, and delivers results orientated solutions to often complex problems.
- Able to develop business by understanding a client’s requirements and tailoring approach
- Manages client relationships utilising resources where appropriate (junior staff, senior experts, technology).
- Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise requests and managing client’s expectations.
- Strong verbal and written communication. Exceptional attention to detail
- Proactive, takes initiative and able to work independently and on a team while handling multiple projects.
- Degree qualified, preferably in a numerate discipline or equivalent.
- Experience with data analysis and a range of modelling techniques (advanced Excel skills preferred).
- Excellent interpersonal skills including strong presentation skills, both verbal and written (advanced PowerPoint skills would be an advantage).
