In this role you will be responsible for maximizing the value of data products within your domain by defining and prioritizing features, ensuring alignment with business objectives, and driving delivery through agile product teams. This role focuses on enabling the business to leverage data for insights, analytics, and operational efficiency, while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Your will own the roadmap for your assigned data domain collaborating closely with Product Managers, Data Engineers, Analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable data solutions that unlock measurable business outcomes.
This role translates business outcomes into product delivery, structures demand and priorities, alongside capability development and regulatory and control frameworks,
The role requires close collaboration with product team, business stakeholders, data / change leadership and outsourced partners to unlock the value of data assets, drive innovation, and support decision-making through advanced analytics and AI.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Product Development & Delivery
- Customer & Partner 360: Own customer data products; enable segmentation, propensity scoring, journey analytics, and attribution.
- Drive initiatives to improve customer data quality, accessibility, and usability across the organization.
- Enable advanced analytics and personalization capabilities through enriched customer datasets.
- Partner with Marketing and Customer Experience teams to unlock insights for retention and acquisition strategies.
- Define and communicate the vision, goals, and roadmap for the data product within the assigned domain.
- Partner with Product Manager to translate strategy into prioritized backlogs, acceptance criteria, and release plans.
- Own and prioritize the product backlog, balancing short-term delivery with long-term strategic goals.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with business units to identify unmet needs and translate them into innovative data product concepts.
- Ensure delivery practices (Agile/Scrum/Kanban), NFRs (performance, governance, resilience, privacy-by-design), and control frameworks (quality, metadata, lineage) are embedded.
- Align data product strategy with enterprise objectives and regulatory obligations.
Value Realisation
- Drive delivery of data products through agile ceremonies (sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives).
- Monitor KPIs and value metrics to ensure products deliver measurable outcomes (e.g., loss ratio improvement, leakage reduction, campaign ROI uplift, cycle-time reduction).
- Maintain product-level scorecards and dashboards tracking usage, quality, SLA performance, and business impact.
- Manage data product integration into Value streams (martech/Claims, etc.).
Data Frameworks & Compliance
- Integrate governance standards for data quality, cataloguing, stewardship, lifecycle management, security, and privacy (e.g., GDPR, Solvency II, IFRS 17).
- Support regulatory reporting and audit requirements as needed.
- Ensure fit-for-purpose non-functional requirements (performance, resilience, observability, lineage, privacy-by-design).
Stakeholder Engagement & Ways of Working
- Build trusted relationships with product team, product managers and business stakeholders in your domain, to prioritize demand and measure business value.
- Ensure clear RACI and handoffs across build/run between internal and partner teams; avoid duplication, ensure accountability.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to align data product roadmaps with broader business product strategies.
- Act as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Gather requirements, validate assumptions, and ensure stakeholder alignment.
- Work closely with Data Engineers, Architects, and Analysts to ensure technical feasibility and scalability.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the product team.

The successful candidate should have a passion for data and a curious mindset both for Beazley and the wider insurance industry. Great communication skills across all levels of seniority and the ability to represent data internally and externally to our colleagues, and clients will also be important.
Essential Criteria

Education
- Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field; advanced degree desirable.
Knowledge & Experience
- Demonstrable experience of data product ownership within insurance or financial services.
- Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of the specialist area (Ops/Reg, Dist/Marketing, or Policy/Claims) and adjacent functions (pricing, risk, finance).
- Stakeholder influence, structured problem-solving, commercial acumen, clear communication, and change leadership.
- Experience applying AI & automation to enhance and support data product strategy and delivery.
- Detailed knowledge of business and technology issues / opportunities related to insurance, data and AI.
- Strong understanding of data management principles, data governance, and analytics.
- Experience in Agile product development and backlog management.
- Familiarity with insurance industry data (policy, customer, regulatory) preferred.
