The Role
Reporting to the CUOs, the role is responsible for supporting the origination, administration and underwriting of portfolio of (re)insurance portfolios. This includes analysis and maintenance of accurate (re)insurance submission data, policies, and records to safeguard Fidelis’s commercial interests.
Key Accountabilities
• Support the underwriting process through the evaluation and presentation of submissions, analysing and interpreting risk exposures and assisting in the determination of coverage structure and contract language.
• Develop and maintain strong broker and client relationships to support portfolio growth and underwriting objectives.
• Monitor market developments and maintain up-to-date knowledge of all relevant classes of business, including legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain the accuracy, completeness and integrity of underwriting data across group underwriting systems.
• Prepare and issue accurate quotations in a timely manner, in line with underwriting objectives.
• Mentor and support junior members of the team in their professional development.
• Ensure adherence with internal policies and external underwriting regulations, engaging with brokers, clients, auditors and regulators as required.
• Support strategic initiatives as required to drive business growth.
Skills & Experience
• Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to establish and maintain strong broker and client relationships, and to independently lead meetings.
• Commercial Acumen: Proficient understanding of the International underwriting marketplace.
• Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills (testing may be required), with a working knowledge of existing broker and vendor Cat Models and the ability to interpret the outputs, perform analysis from first principles.
• Negotiation Skills: Proven negotiation skills, with the ability to attract new business and retain existing clients.
• Financial and Capital Awareness: Sound knowledge of capital and vendor models, with ability to interpret and apply outputs effectively.
• Minimum of two years’ experience in a broking or underwriting capacity within property/specialty (re)insurance lines, experience in other classes a plus.
