Aon is recruiting an Area Director for London, with full responsibility for the London Healthcare and Risk Benefits Consulting business. This is a senior leadership and clear visibility as a pipeline role for future executive leadership within Aon.
This opportunity is a hybrid role with the expectation for regular office and client presence.

What the day will look like
- P&L ownership – setting and delivering the commercial plan for revenue, margin and growth across the London portfolio.
- Leadership of leaders – directly leading multiple Team Leaders and, through them, a growing group of Consultants, ensuring clarity of direction, high standards and consistent delivery of excellent client outcomes.
- Developing leadership capability – actively coaching, challenging and developing your Team Leaders so they grow as strategic, commercially minded and people-focused leaders.
- Culture and colleague experience – shaping and role-modelling the culture of our London office, creating an environment where colleagues feel supported, challenged, included and able to perform at their best.
- Client and market leadership – acting as a senior point of contact for key clients and prospects, representing Aon in the London market, and ensuring we bring the full breadth of Aon’s Health and wider Aon capabilities to our clients.
- Risk, governance and quality – ensuring that our work meets the highest standards of advice, compliance, conduct and client experience.

Skills and experience that will lead to success
- Proven expertise in at least one of Aon’s Employee Benefits proposition areas, ideally within Healthcare and/or Risk Benefits.
- Strong understanding of large corporate, mid-corporate and SME marketplaces, particularly in the London and wider UK context.
- Demonstrable track record of leading leaders and teams in a consulting or client-facing environment, including performance management, coaching and talent development.
- Excellent commercial acumen, with experience of P&L ownership or significant revenue and margin responsibility.
- Highly effective influencing and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across organisational levels and collaborate across business lines.
- Enthusiastic, inclusive leader with exemplary relationship-building skills, capable of articulating a compelling vision and leading change with credibility.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical and numerical skills, applied to both client and business performance challenges.
- Self-disciplined and organised, able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
- Deep commitment to Aon’s values, with a track record of building diverse, inclusive teams and a strong, positive culture.
- Good knowledge of FCA requirements and standards, and a strong personal commitment to doing the right thing for clients and for Aon.
