Who are we?
We’re Standard Life, a retirement specialist focused entirely on retirement savings and income. We champion the belief that everyone’s journey to and through retirement can be better, and for more than 200 years, we’ve been helping our customers plan and prepare for their financial futures.
Life today is increasingly complicated, uncertain and unpredictable. People move through different careers, face unexpected moments and navigate important choices. We offer our colleagues flexibility, trust and benefits that work for whatever life brings. In return we expect curiosity, connection, accountability and high standards. We make room for what matters - so you can bring your best, every day.
The role
Based in Dublin, this role is about helping Standard Life manage risk well and do the right thing for customers. You’ll take a fresh, independent look at how teams work, test whether key controls are working as they should, and share clear findings that people can act on. Your work will focus mainly on Ireland and the wider European regulatory environment. It’s a great role if you enjoy variety, learning new areas quickly, and working with people across the business.
Key responsibilities:
- You'll have the opportunity to take ownership of each audit, seeing it through from beginning to end (planning, testing and report writing) whilst working closely with the wider audit team.
- Use data analytics and AI tools (including tools like Copilot, where appropriate) to spot patterns and risks, and to make your work more efficient.
- Work with stakeholders across the business, including senior leaders, ask the right questions (even when they’re challenging), and agree practical actions that lead to real improvements.
What are we looking for?
- You’ve delivered internal audits (or external audit/risk assurance work) in Irish and/or European financial services, and you understand the regulatory environment.
- You’ve used data analytics and AI tools (including tools like Copilot, where appropriate) to improve testing and bring stronger insights.
- You manage yourself well, take initiative, and bring professional curiosity - you ask good questions and challenge constructively. You communicate clearly, build trust, use sound, pragmatic judgement, and manage up by keeping people informed and raising issues early.
- You have a relevant professional qualification (for example, Chartered Internal Audit/CIIA, accounting, or similar).
- This role has been identified as CF 2 under the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness & Probity regime. The successful candidate will be required to comply with the Central Bank of Ireland’s Fitness and Probity Standards on an ongoing basis. Further details are available on request from the HR Team or directly from the Central Bank of Ireland.
We want to hire the whole version of you.
We are committed to ensuring that everyone feels accepted and welcome applicants from all backgrounds. If your experience looks different from what we’ve advertised and you believe that you can bring value to the role, we’d love to hear from you.
If you require any adjustments to the recruitment process, please let us know so we can help you to be at your best.
We’re reviewing applications as they come in, so apply early to avoid missing out.
